A photo a day, keeps the ____noun____ away. Goal: Take at least one photo every day for a year and make a post about it (even if that post consists of one word).

Day 52

I've always wanted a rose bush to call my own. My mom used to have a few, but they always died or got ran over by the lawnmower in infancy. Even though Ian and I are renting this house, I still feel a sense of ownership to this rose bush. I am so proud of it I almost cried.

The Ultimate lounging position. Of course, Ian would never tell you that he was watching The Bachelorette at this very moment.

Day 48

I really like symmetry. I like to find manmade things that mimic nature. See if you can see the relationship between the bike racks and the mountains.

Day 45

Here starts the series of photos that I look with my camera phone. The quality of the pictures aren't that great, but at least it will keep the blog going for now.

What I got to see of Phoenix of my way home from Missouri. (I waved to Stephenie Meyer from the airport. I'm sure she would appreciate the thought).

Day 44

So here's the canoe trip. Yes, the infamous canoe trip that killed my camera. The trip was a lot of fun, and definitely eventful. Ian and I played bumper boats, flipped our canoe, swung on a roap swing, and I poked a hole in my eardrum! It really was a lot of fun, and I would totally do it again, minus the whole eardrum thing! The river was beautiful, see for yourself!

Day 42

Uncle Ian. Sophee's favorite uncle in the whole world. They were inseparable the whole trip. Sophee kept picking up my book and telling Ian to read it to her. Each time he would make up a new story about Princess Sophee, and she would listen attentively all the way through. Then she would say, "Again Ian, again." She got another story of course.

Day 41

I am amazed at how quickly children grow. Only four months had passed since the last time I saw my niece Kamber. At that time she couldn't walk, didn't have any teeth, and just had peach fuzz for hair. Now look how adorable she is munching on a carrot with four teeth and two on the way. Incredible.

Day 40

So this blog post has been a long time coming... Ian and I went to St. Louis for a family reunion. My plan was to take a picture a day (as normal) and then upload all the days when I got home. However, while on the trip, we went canoeing. We had the misfortune of flipping our boat with the camera in it. Therefore, I had to wait for the SD card to dry out before I could get the pictures off it. The camera is toast.

At any rate, here is what I saw upon arriving in St. Louis. I wanted a sign that said, "Meet me in St. Louis" but this was the next best thing.

Because Missouri is part of the Bible Belt, I was very pleased to find this on my way out the door.

Day 39

My photography teacher said that every good photographer has at least one picture of ripped paper. I don't know that I would categorize myself as a good photographer, but here's my picture of ripped paper anyways.

Day 37

The weather in Utah is a strange thing. This morning, I woke up to an inch of snow on the ground with the flakes still falling. Might I remind you that today is May 24th, we are supposed to be months into spring already! Of course today had an all-time low temperature for this time of year, and it was the latest in the year the state had ever seen snow. So, I drudged along in the snow on my way to work. To my complete and utter surprise, when I left work it was nearly 60 degrees with the sun shining and nothing but blue skies as far as the eye could see. That's just downright weird!

Day 36

Today is going to be an eclectic day of photos, a little bit o this and a little bit o that. I don't know why, but I always take more photos on Sunday. At any rate, I have some pictures of me, Stewart Falls, remnants of an avalanche, and Leo. Enjoy!

First off, my new do!

Day 34

So I have been meaning to read "The Host" for months now. I have been waiting for the perfect weekend to do it. I think this is it. My homework isn't that demanding, Ian and I have absolutely nothing planned, and I am in a reading mood. I'll let you know how long it takes me to finish it. It's only 619 pages long...

Day 33

I always love a good wedding reception. I mean what occasion could be more photogenic. Unfortunately, I didn't have much time to meander around and take pictures like I wanted to. That is hard to do when they only people you know are the bride and the groom and everybody else is trying to figure out if they should know you or not. Here are a few pictures though.

Day 32

Today Ian and I went to the LDS temple. It was a spiritually uplifting experience. The closer I get to graduation, the more I realize I have no idea what I am going to do with my life. I have so many directions I could go in, which I guess is better than the alternative, that being having absolutely no where to go. As much as I want answers to all my questions right now, I now that it has come to the point in my life where I just need to turn my will over to God. So, it's whatever you say boss!

Day 31

This is a picture of the Eifel Tower that I have hanging up in my house. I did not take this picture. In fact, I have never seen the tower in person. I am a European Studies major, that for one unfortunate reason or another, has never been to Europe. I have dreams of one day going to France; of seeing the places I have so often studied. I want to walk where Napoleon marched, visit the throne on which King Louis XIV sat, and pray at the Cathedral where every single King of France was crowned. Maybe one day I will get to take my own fabulous picture of the Eifel Tower, but for now, I will look at someone else's picture on my wall with a deep-rooted envy.

Day 29

I love watching the sunset. There is a sense of peace and tranquility in watching another day come to an end. It is in these moments where I ask myself, "What have I accomplished today?" Most days I can hold my head high with the knowledge that I have made a difference. Every time I take a picture of the sunrise/sunset I think of Tevye from Fiddler on the Roof and his song "Sunrise, Sunset".

Sunrise, sunset
Sunrise, sunset
Swiftly flow the days
Seedlings turn overnight to sunflowers
Blossoming even as we gaze...

Here are some photos to help you enjoy my sunset over Provo.
